Hello, everyone, and welcome. My name is LeRon and I will be your virtual tour guide for today. As you can see from the video, we are at a beautiful place on campus. Western campus is the home of the Honors College where residence halls Hillcrest, Beechwoods, and Stonebridge house the Honors first and second year students. So here in the Honors College, we promote that it is a research intensive program, that you'll get great faculty engagement in mentorship. But however, outside of the classroom, you're going to get a great experience as well. There can be about 280 students in each one of the three residence halls. And that'll be a mix of first and second year Honors students. So it's going to create a very dynamic environment where you're going to be with like minded students who get it, who are on the same page as you, who are here to do some of the same things. But as the Honors College has students from all majors, you're going to get to interact with all kinds of different people from all over the country, even international students. Let's hop into the tour. First up, we have the kitchen, which here as you can see, it's a nice big open area. It really feels like a hotel lobby almost a cafe area. As you can see the chairs and the tables, and in the bar setting. There's a full stove so that if you wanted to cook any kind of meal that you could prep out here and you could cook and there is a full fridge if you needed to keep any items in there. But this is a great place students take advantage of this space all the time. Moving beyond the kitchen, we have a really nice lobby area, which you can see couches and a big TV. If you wanted to get together and have a movie night, watch a TV show like The Bachelor or the Bachelorette, or watch one of the big games is a great area to do that. Like I said, this is really top notch. And these residence halls are the nicest on campus.
All right, as we transition to what I think is probably the coolest feature in the residence halls, is the individual houses. So here we have an individual rooms about there's about 15 to 20 rooms in each house. And as you can see, it has a nice lobby area where you and your housemates can hang out. You can have friends over. One of the things with the Honors College that we talked about is that you will build lifelong friendships. And that will happen as you interact with your roommate doing daily routine things, as you interact with your housemates out in the lobby. This is really community at its finest. It's like no other feature, in some of the other residence halls where they have this type of communal space.
Well, that about wraps us up for the tour. I hope you've enjoyed this and I hope that you will come and join us in the fall and be a part of the inaugural class. If you have any more questions you can reach out to anybody in the Honors staff. Again, my name is LeRon, and anybody would be more than happy to help you. So thanks, take care, and have a great day.
